Your idea that ‘we see what others don’t see,’ and how you ‘experience’ the Taliban, is so very helpful for me as a white person to understand how to comprehend what is triggering for our Black communities and why whiteness may feel unsafe. I’m grateful for moments of clarity that pieces like yours provide as I work everyday to know better and do what I can to dismantle racism in my world.
